Belgium: how high are the fines?
There is no single published statutory ceiling; SPF Économie / FOD Economie can order compliance and impose penalties for continued breaches.
When do the rules apply?
The accessibility requirements apply across the EU from 28 June 2025.
Does the EAA apply to my website?
The EAA covers specific sectors — e-commerce, consumer banking, e-books, electronic communications, audiovisual media, passenger transport and self-service terminals — not every website; a purely informational or promotional site may fall outside its scope. If you sell goods or services to consumers online, you are typically covered. Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt — fewer than 10 employees and, at the same time, an annual turnover or balance-sheet total of at most €2 million (both conditions must be met). The exemption covers services only, not products.
